ReSet - Drug education doesn't get more innovative than this! ReSet is an online health self assessment tool aimed at those who 'work hard, play hard'. Peer educators engage young people at gyms and clubs on the Northern Beaches. The online tool helps individuals identify issues relating to their lifestyle such as drug use, mental health and wellbeing and social connectedness. On completion of the online tool, relevant information and links to appropriate services can be accessed.

Keep It Simple (KIS) - AWARD WINNER! Since 2004 KIS peer educators have been educating clubbers, ravers and party goers with credible, accurate information focused on ecstasy and related drugs. KIS peer educators also cover the possible effects of drug use on mental health and deliver safe sex messages. The KIS website outlines real stories by Sydney clubbers and offers harm minimisation tips for drug use and other risky behaviours.

Risky Drinking Project - The Pittwater Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) are working in partnership with MDECC and other local agencies to address the issue of 'secondary supply of alcohol'. The 'Supply Means Supply' campaign raises awareness around the sale or supply of alcohol to under 18's. Workshops have been run by MDECC to educate parents on the risks associated with alcohol use by young people.

Community Education Program - The Health Promotion Program uses a community development approach. This means that programs are developed in direct response to community-identified needs. More specifically, a range of health promotion projects are conducted, targeting specific populations and environments to enhance community mobilisation.

IMPAKT (Intervention, Minimisation, Parents and Kids Together) - is an initiative of the NSW Police Northern Beaches Local Area Command and other relevant agencies. It addresses underage drinking by educating young people who have been issued a notice under the Liquor Act or Registered Club Act. Parents or guardians also attend the one-off session designed to increase awareness around health, legal and safety risks linked to underage drinking and supply of alcohol. For more information…
